My photographic journey began in 1987, at John Marshall High School, in San Antonio, Texas. On a year-long exchange program I had a few timetable spaces to fill, and signed up for random subjects such as the strangely titled Industrial Arts. As it turned out, Industrial Arts was just a fancy name for Photography, and in that year I learned the magic of using a manual camera, processing my own film, and creating black and white prints in the dimly-lit red glow of the darkroom. My hands stank of photo chemicals, and my soul was very happy. Photographic processes may have changed over the years, and long hours in the darkroom have been replaced with long hours in front of a computer, but I still adore what I do to this day.
