The combination of the female form and the moon float in space above a redgum cylindrical base. Raku fired and smoked in the post firing process, this piece has a finish reminiscent of stone.

About The Artist:
Australian sculptor Sue Llewelyn (b. 1955) spent her formative years living on a wheat and sheep farm near Rainbow, in the remote north-western region of Victoria.
Sue gained qualifications in ceramics, education and design and went on to teach in art education, working at the Bendigo Regional Institute of TAFE as well as a number of secondary colleges in the area.
Sue Llewelyn has been practicing her art for 30 years, focusing on the female form and creating ceramic sculptures that explore the value of feminine energy.
Sue established a pop-up gallery called Red Rat in View St, Bendigo in 2013, where she has been exhibiting her sculptures as well as the work of other local artists.
Sue Llewelyn is presently producing new works and running classes at her Bendigo studio.
